Override all daylight shifts for a whole week

Hello,

Intro:
Our team is using PagerDuty for the operations of our products. We have multiple schedules, and due to some specifics, there are some folks that are part of all schedules and their shifts also align across all schedules. We cover only half of the 24 hours a day.

Problem:
When two people agree to rotate their schedules just for a given week, we have to manually open each schedule and make the change for each given day. We cannot use the ā€œSchedule an Overrideā€ option for the whole week, since it overrides the whole week (7 x 24hours) and we want to make the change only for our daylight hours.

Ask:
Would it be possible to add an option in the ā€œSchedule an Overrideā€ window, so that one can select the shift that he needs to override the schedule with?

If this is already possible, I would appreciate to receive some directions.

Hi Iliya,

Thanks for writing in. It sounds like you would like to be able to bulk override schedules for just a portion of the shift each week, which is not currently possible with the scheduling tool. The schedule overrides can only be applied one at a time.

You may be able to use the REST API to automate this process, especially given that you have several schedules to update every time this happens. We have an endpoint to create overrides.

If you need further help with this, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at support@pagerduty.com. You can also always reference our knowledge base for more details on scheduling overrides.

Cheers.
